Linguistics Senior Ariel Stein at UC Berkeley Symposium

Program in Linguistics Senior Ariel Stein presented her “Dissecting the Frog: A Typology of Pragmatics-Based Humor” work at UC Berkeley’s 8th Annual Undergraduate Linguistics Symposium on April 6th. The presentation analyzed jokes, investigating how certain violations of cooperative linguistic principles systematically contribute to the subjective experience of humor. Ariel was also able to meet and network with other undergraduate linguists from around the country!
