Koda (Wenjing) Li presents at CULC 19

Koda (Wenging) Li presented his paper "Binding in Coordination" at the 19th CULC in Ithaca, NY

Koda (Wenging) Li presented a paper entitled "Binding in Coordination" at the 19th Cornell Undergraduate Linguistics Conference on April 27. CULC is one of the oldest undergraduate Linguistics conferences, set at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Koda's paper was on the kind of binding found in things like "Every 3rd grade boy and his mother attended the meeting". He presented a novel solution within the framework of Variable Free Semantics, which solution (unlike standard accounts) does not rely on 'scoping out' every third grade boy (where a scoping out solution is problematic as quantifiers can't normally scope over conjuncts).  The full program can be found here: https://conf.ling.cornell.edu/culc19/program.html
